Life @ Arrow Wood

Bunk Life

Camp Arrow Wood is currently comprised of 22 cabins housed in 11 structures, as well as four lakeside lodges – arranged in a U-shaped pattern creating a quad-like feel. Cabins house 6-7 campers per side (12-14 total) plus counselors. Lodges vary in size and configuration – housing 10-20 people each. Newly renovated cabins and lodges have large front porches, interior bathrooms with showers, and incredible views of Richmond Pond. Bunk time is time for bonding, building memories, and being together.

Facilities

Surrounded by mature trees and native vegetation, Camp Arrow Wood is set on a beautiful 218-acre freshwater pond, ideal for swimming, boating, and waterskiing. A beautiful lakeside dining hall, performance barn, canteen, and recreation and fitness center add useable indoor spaces to the camp property.

Recent facility improvements at Arrow Wood include two new basketball courts; four new tennis courts; a new baseball and softball complex complete with batting cages; new fields for soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and football; a new golf area; new docks and an expanded beach area; a new climbing wall; and a renovated health center and kitchen. Future improvements will include a state-of-the-art field house and a new camp entrance!

Total Health

At Camp Arrow Wood, we take the overall health of our campers and staff very seriously. When we say total health, we mean in mind, body, and spirit. Our remodeled health center is staffed by doctors, nurses, and athletic trainers, but that’s just part of the overall picture. We are well aware of the mental health challenges faced by children today and are committed to equipping our staff with the best knowledge, tools, and processes to work with and support our campers.

Our goal is to achieve happiness – however that is defined for your child – and that starts with our total health approach.

Camp Arrow Wood is five miles from Berkshire Medical Center, a level two trauma center, and an hour’s drive to Albany Medical Center, a level one trauma center. In addition, we partner with Berkshire Health System and have easy access to their Urgent Care facility located only minutes from the camp.
